A small portion of Finca Los Congos is planted with the Caturra variety. This is a smaller and bushier shaped plant than the giant Pacamara -- as a result, it is more compact and produces smaller seeds. Last year we brought in the washed-process of this varietal and had sights on what could be done to the characteristics by processing it naturally.

We are proud to be the only company in the world to have this coffee this year because we simply couldn’t pass it up! The Natural Caturra from Los Congos might give you the impression that the characteristics would be intrinsic to that of the natural processed coffees we've carried in recent past, but we were shocked to discover a more approachable, balanced cup.

With a cleaner base note and more subtle character provided from this variety, the notes added by the processing method have a little bit less intensity but much more clarity. Almost a berry like fruitiness and big sweetness dominate the aromatics and the cup and its far more drinkable on a day-to-day basis then we expected.
