The Pèrez family of Huehuetenango, Guatemala has been growing quality coffee for several generations. Grandfathers and grandchildren producing side by side. One farm near the western border brings us this particular coffee.

This caturra is grown on a steep mountain side between 1,575m and 2,000m above sea level and produced by William H Pèrez. After a sparse harvest in 2013-2014, we are thrilled to be bringing back coffee from this region of Guatemala.

The high altitude of this micro region causes the coffee to grow a bit slower, allowing the sugars in the fruit to develop more depth and complexity. The San Antonio Chaguite is intensely creamy and rich. Black Cherry syrups dance with dense vanilla flavors, but is balanced by a lively effervescence.

The coffee was milled at the Pèrez family’s state-of-the-art milling facility on the outskirts of the city of Huehuetenango. San Antonio Chaguite will be used as the featured house coffee and cold brew for the next season and we couldn’t be more excited.
