The Takengon Mandheling is produced at the Jagong Mill in Sumatra by Irham Junus, his son Andi and his daughter Ina. The coffee cherry itself is grown by neighboring, family-owned farms, then meticulously sorted by Irham's team at Jagong.
Having full oversight of the sorting and milling processes, the team can ensure uncompromised quality and consistency in cherry ripeness, seed size and density. This elevates them a cut above the majority of producers in Sumatra, where convoluted supply chains frequently obscure traceability and quality.
A classic, Sumatran earthiness lays a foundation for higher notes of green apple, finishing with a brown sugar sweetness and the lingering aroma of allspice.
