Gedeb
Gedeb
Flavor Notes: Raspberry | Rhubarb | Persimmon
The Ethiopia Gedeb comes from a farm a ways south of the Ethiopian capital city of Addis Ababa in a region called Oromia. The farm is near Yirgachefe, a globally-recognized town for unique coffee. It is a naturally processed coffee, grown between 1900 and 2200 meters. Ethiopian coffee seeds from this region and elevation are already packed with sweetness and fruitiness. Processing them naturally by leaving the whole cherries in the sun to dry for a couple weeks before milling, serves to amplify this sweetness into the syrupy, dessert-like cup of coffee that we have here.
The Gedeb features a delicate and complex raspberry brightness on the front, evolving into hearty rhubarb notes in the middle, leaving the sweet spice of a ripe persimmon on the finish. Intense as it is, all aspects of this coffee are in perfect balance. Though unique, it is very approachable and easy to fall in love with, making it the perfect choice if you're thinking of gifting coffee this year.
